Please help me understand installing/running COD:WW2
by RedRock
Hi.
I'm trying to see if I can install and run COD:WW2. The only thing I'm able to see so far is that it requires:
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit or later
DirectX: Version 11
I checked and I have those (Win7 Pro 64-bit and DirectX 11).
I have Steam installed and I have a steam account.
I have 19 Gb free on my partitioned HD. If I need more than that, for game installation and free space that should be kept free, I'll have to delete a bunch of stuff or repartition my HD and reinstall Win7 and all my other apps (NOOOOOOO, please, NOOOOOO!).
So, can anyone figure out, yet, how much HD space I'll need, and if I get the program (whether Beta or real release in November) for PC,
1) Can I install and run it with the available HD space I have?
and
2) How do I do it (run it)? Do I have to have Steam open and running and signed-on at the same time I play? Will I have the actual game on my HD, that I just launch that program, the same way I launch COD:UO or COD2 on my HD (games I installed from a purchased DVD), or am I connecting to Steam and running the game off their master server? It's all confusing to me.
Feel free to answer privately in PM's or emails, if you prefer, or if it's too much to type, you can call me (several have my phone # now, thanks to OldAge's multi-player group text blasts recently). JBubba57@gmail.com
Thanks.

said cod2, meant cod4
1) The requirements have not been released yet. https://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/requirements/call-of-duty-ww2/15916
2)You have to have the game installed on your HD in order to play it and you will have to most likely be logged into steam to play the game, at least for 95% of steam games you have to be signed in (but you can play games offline not signed into steam depending on the game )
There is no game streaming to and from a master server for steam you have to have a physical copy on your hd.

You are gonna have problems! Are you still running the same Mac with Windows on bootcamp? If your Mac has an Nvidia 660 video processor, you might get the game to run but it will be choppy any less video graphics like Intel HD graphics...hang it up!
As far as space, your are gonna need a bunch. My son installed Infinite Warefare and it was over 80 gigabytes, 19 will definately not be enough!
Depending on your system, you have 3 choices:
1. Buy a Windows computer for gaming (or used one via Craigslist).
2. Get a larger hard drive and copy the drive image, then expand the gaming partition.
3. Get a separate drive (if your computer has a bay available) install windows and dual boot. I'm not sure how to do that on a Mac, but it's quite easy on a Windows machine.
Steam runs a front end to launch and validate games, but you can run it via the executable although Steam will be running in the background.

My system, currently booting Win7Pro through Apple's BootCamp, has
2.93 GHz Intel Core i7
8 Gb 1333 MHz DDR3
ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 Mb
So, what does that mean, in terms of this new game (or Infinite Warfare, for example)?
