Yea i saw rumors about this a few weeks ago saying the purchase would include CoD 4 and Ghosts.  We'll see what happens.

So, there has been footage released from the remastered version of CoD 4.  It appears as though they made the graphics look like the more modern games.  Looks pretty slick and may be worth the purchase of Infinite Warfare!!!!

i bought a new game today , 1st one in several years, last one i got new was tigerwoods 2008.....

gonna see how bad of a mother this new tower i got a few months back really is.  i'll post up a few pics of the new game when it finishes installing, but that looks like its gonna take a few hours though. the game is 6 DVD's and  80 GB to install to hard drive and requires a STEAM account to play.

ok i finally finished installing the disc's that took almost 2 hours. when that was done there was another 8 GB update that i had to download and let install before i could ever get the game to start up to play in the single player mode.

if you get this game you really do need a higher end graphics card ( 2 gb or better ) and at least a decent quad core ( 3.5 ghz or better ) to play, and a bit of time to get it all set up to start. took me almost 8 hours to install and update before i could start the game up. my dl speed had something to do with that but still time consuming, you should plan on a minimum of 3 to 4 hours to install and update.

if you want to play the single player version you will need to disable your anti virus or it will get stuck on the loading screen i found that out the hard way.

i did make a short video of the same portion of the game but have not uploaded it to YOUTUBE yet will do that tomarrow.

I was thinking of getting it but a lot of reviews for the PC version were not positive.  Mainly, the reviews seem to think the PC port was done from the console versions and didn't operate smoothly, the graphics had a lot of hiccups.  However, they said the CoD4 Remastered was very good.

I'm going to have to redo my Windows setup (via Bootcamp on Mac) before I try.  I started with a HD partition of 185 Gb for the Windows 7 Pro app and then added desired/supporting software, including Norton and COD:UO and COD4, Razer mouse software, MS Office, FireFox, Dragon, etc., and after 2 years or so, I only have 8.3 Gb free available.  I have almost no music or pictures on my HD as part of that Windows stuff, to boot.  I'll have to remove the Windows partition (can't expand it on the fly) and reinstall everything in a new larger partition to do much more with Windows games.  I hope that's a simple copy to the new partition from a backup disk, but I dunno til I do it.  And just thinking about trying to find all my installation DVD's, Downloads, etc., including the Windows 7 Pro disks (and activation #), after 2 years and a house move, gives me a huge headache.

If any of you have any tips about doing this--reinstalling to a new HD partition, which I guess is like reimaging a HD--from an external hard disk or other backup disk, I'd love to hear.  Or, can it be all done to an external drive and I just boot into and run Windows and COD4, etc. from that?

Mac has an easy built-in app for seeing what hardware, RAM, cpu, etc. is in the system.  How do I do the equivalent "About this Mac..." for my Windows stuff (when I'm on Windows) ???

Normally, you cannot backup files and folders from Windows, reinstall Windows, restore the files and folders to,a fresh Windows installation and expect the programs to work. However, CoD:UO will, because it doesn't need a formal install process where it writes specific app dependent into to the registry.  You can copy your entire CoD:UO folder and place it anywhere and run the executable and it will work fine, as long as punkbuster is installed.

On a Windows machine, you can create a drive or system image and then restore it and there is no installation required. But, this only works restoring to the same size or larger drive. I would not know it something like that is possible with your machine. It would be nice if you had separate drives for each OS.

As far as where you find the computer specs, go to system inside the control panel and that will give basics. And for more detailed info, you can download a program called "HWinfo".

i don't know pistazien the graphics looked pretty good and ran smooth as silk on my machine, but then again i do have a much better graphics card and processor than most.

i played the single player mode all the way thru, never really had any issues with laggy game play or glitchy graphics. this game is primarily set in outer space so not a lot of ground assault missions.
in the other versions of COD you play the single game missions in a direct line approach, this new one once you get thru about the 4th mission you get to pick and choose the direction the game goes and the missions you play.

when you first start up the game you can choose between standard keyboard or gamepad to play, i played the game with the standard keyboard but probably should have used my game pad instead, so that it would be easier to fly the space missions. once you start the game you can't switch. which kinda sucked, there are alot of space missions where you fly a jackle space fighter and the gamepad joysticks would have came in real handy.

on a scale of 1 to 10 i would put this at about a 7 or 8 for game play and about  8 or 9 on the graphics,
so over all not bad but still not as as much fun as some of the earlier versions of COD like UO or COD4. but better than a couple of the other incarnations of the game, and i have most all of them in the COD series.

to get the actual discs is kind of pricey at 60.00, if you are interested in the game you might want to wait until they go on sale and the price comes down to around 40.00 to 45.00 black fridays type of pricing. you will also need a fairly decent graphics card and processor to play smoothly.
