I am having problems with Ventrilo, sometimes other peoples talking is fine and then sometimes parts of words come through broken and a few seconds later the other parts of the same word, like a lagging DVR.  My ping so far has gone up to 20,000 but even when it is around 500, I don't hear people respond right away and their lights stay green in vent for several minutes.

I have seen problems in vent for everyone at times, but tonight it seemed to only be me.  I installed vent 64-bit and reinstalled the 32-bit version, same problem.  Then I went to my other computer, and the problem persisted.  This would indicate that there is no problem with the installs on the computers, especially since this is the first time it happened to me.  

Unless Microsoft made a change that installed itself, which probably could not happen, then it would be with vent or the vent server.

What does your ping normally show for vent? Anything in the hundreds is super high..... any internet issues for the game or websites? Run a ping/tracert/pingplot to the Ventrilo IP and see if there are any latency.

There may also be some interference from Logitech software for my keyboards.  Will check tomorrow. Thanks,

If my ping gets up in the 3-400's, Vent either quits working or kicks me, but the game still keeps running.  Sounds like a signal issue (router, isp, internet traffic to/form the Vent server) to me.

Have you tried Teamspeak at these times when your Ventrillo is performing poorly, to see if it is a signal issue, at least on your local end?  I can maybe help you try that, if it happens and we're both on, as I have Teamspeak too.

Works perfectly today... Made no changes!  Actually, was installing Windows 7 on a spare hard drive on my other computer just in case.  Thanks!!!
